Critters Here and Away

This squirrel had just gotten a drink from our bird bath. Looks like he spotted me looking at him!

These geese were cruising on the lake near our home.

Yesterday I was on a road to a state park and saw two pretty fawns. Of course, they bounded away so I only got a picture of one of them.

The park has bear-resistant trash cans and you have to put your hand inside the handle and push on a lever to open it. This butterfly happened to be perched on the handle. I think someone had probably spilled a bit of something sweet there.

I found another butterfly on a thistle plant. These plants are big and weedy but the pollinators like them. I think this guy is a skipper.

Today's final shot shows some mallard ducks in a creek.

  1. All nice shots and the Squirrel looks like he is wondering if you are going to put out some food or shoo it away. Saw a doe and fawn in the road yesterday. We waited and they finally scurried off into some bushes

  5. Hi Linda :) That blue butterfly is gorgeous, nice photo! I love the fawn photo too. I tried to take a photo of one of them, but gosh they're fast!!! The squirrel looks like he's guilty of something! :)

  6. Thank you for your comment on my post. I love it when an opportunity suddenly happens for an unusual photo like your butterfly push up one. Took a photo last week of the same type of gold butterfly and looked through more photos than I would like to find it on butterfliesandmoths.org. It's a Zabulon Skipper. Love all your photos. You live in a wonderful area.
