Early November Random-osity

The Good: Although we had rain this afternoon, the clouds parted around 3 o'clock and the sun poured through. We happened to be in Woodstock and I took this picture near there.

Note the fall foliage. We haven't had a hard frost yet so the leaves are still on the trees. When I was a child, the leaves were mostly down by halloween. I remember how they crunched as we made our way down the sidewalk.

The Random: This ad is the centerfold that I saw in a periodical that I picked up in Sperryville. The mayor of Richmond is reminding you to vote.

Tomorrow is election day here and even if only local offices are being filled in your district, try to get out and vote. Your vote counts the most in local elections, after all!

The Fun: It's fun when our families or friends get together. Be sure to record the occasion with a picture (or several).

  11. I love that last quote. So true! We have several photos with family groups. Now that some are no longer with us, they are precious. Lovely photos Linda. I heard some of Skyline Drive is closed due to ice today.

  12. Gorgeous light highlights the colour in the first image. I remember as a kid jumping in to piles of leaves well before Halloween and it was fun. I also remember raking up piles of leaves and it wasn't fun. :)
Group shots of the family are priceless. I have one from the late 80s and it was the last one as a group so I treasure that photo.
