Spires in White Post


White Post is a small town but it has a rich history. In the 1730's, the 6th Lord Fairfax of Cameron settled here. Known in Virginia as simply Lord Fairfax, he owned a huge tract of land. He hired a young man named George Washington to survey it.

This Episcopal church was established in 1868 and is the Meade Memorial Church. When I stopped to take a picture, the afternoon light did not illuminate the front, but it did provide a nice silhouette.
