Critters in Early August

Deer, Shenandoah National Park
First, I want to thank Black and White Weekend for spotlighting my Young Lovers picture from last week.  Today's black and white photo shows a whitetail deer. I spotted it through the trees from the parking lot at the Dickey Ridge Visitors Center, basically because it was in a spot of sunlight so it stood out. I drove quietly over to the nearby picnic area where it was grazing and was pleased to see it was still there. Thank you, Ms. Deer!

Next we have an animal from my backyard. We have many rabbits this year!

Weekend Green
We have a couple of hummingbirds too. The one I previously showed you was in the shade next to my blue feeder so the photo had a blue cast. This one was in brighter light but he wouldn't hold still for a portrait. I love him anyway!

The final photo shows one of the cats that hang out at our neighborhood's entrance.
