Favorite Bird Photos of 2013 and a Squirrel

Happy New Year!

Here it is a New Year and I am still working on my Photo of the Year selection for 2013. I've already shared finalists in the categories Favorite Theme PhotosSkyline Drive Favorites, and Shenandoah Photo of the Year. Now let's look at some of the creatures who visit our yard.

We see a fair number of birds in our yard, especially in the winter when I put up bird feeders. We also see geese and ducks year-round because our yard is adjacent to a small lake. They are fun to watch!

Please let me know if you have a favorite in this group.

When you feed birds, you feed squirrels. They are clever creatures and they seem to think all food is there for their pleasure.

  1. What a great blog, I'm going to have to follow now. Love the wildlife. You don't see Bluejays here though the dove looks similar to our.

  4. I like the first shot; not sure what bird this is (a female cardinal perhaps?), but I like all the curvy branches surrounding it. :)

  5. I like the white goose (or is it a duck?) among the other geese on the water. Looks like he wants to make an announcement. :)

  6. That first duck in the middle seems to be saying something! I like that one particularly!

The squirrel being a squirrel of course, is being a devious rascal!
