The Old Massanutten School
This building served as a school from 1875 to 1937. It was moved to downtown Luray in 1974 so that it could be preserved as a historical attraction.

ReplyDeleteI am glad that it was preserved.
ReplyDeleteThe old schoolhouse is nice, I like the bell.
ReplyDeleteTake care, Happy Friday! Have a great weekend!
Think of all the children who passed through those doors in 67 years!
ReplyDeleteI love when old buildings like this are preserved.
ReplyDeleteSo glad to see that this was preserved. I wonder if there are any students from this school who are still alive today?
ReplyDeleteIt seems like. Some who attended their first three grades there would be in their late nineties.
DeleteOne of my aunts, who would be 102 if she was still alive, was educated in part in a one room schoolhouse in Oklahoma. I love seeing these preserved one room schoolhouses. I've been to several over the years although not this one. Beautiful blue sky celebrating it, too. Alana ramblinwitham.blogspot.com
