We also went to Frank and Deborah’s house so Charlie could play with Sadie.

Notes from a Cloudy Weekend
We had clouds alternating with rain all weekend. The rain is actually quite welcome because we need it, and I won’t even quibble about the fact that it fell on a weekend.
I stopped by the first “Wander Woodstock” event on Friday evening. Said hello to a couple of state park rangers and visited the VECCA gallery.
I’ve been concerned about cutbacks in our national parks staff. Used AI to show how I feel.
You probably saw pictures of the “Hands Off “ demonstrations across the country on Saturday. I read that 5.2 million people participated. Our local crowd was not very big, but they were probably seen by thousands of people because they stood on an interstate overpass.
Our post yesterday mentioned Charlie‘s training session. I was disappointed that the professional trainer did not succeed in teaching him to lie down. Now I feel like it’s pointless to try to train him.
Today I took him for a short walk in our state park and then made a brief stop at Muse Vineyards to view the Birds on the Bend event. Here is musician Matt Johnson entertaining folks at the winery.
Right after we left there, I saw some wildflowers beside the road.

I am glad your park rangers were there. I like your AI Ranger Bear, very poignant. Loved the Virginia Bluebells and Dutchman’s Breeches. Good for those local protesters. I have a feeling they will be joined by a lot more as time goes on. I know Charlie must have enjoyed his play date.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a full and meaningful weekend, rain and all. Glad you got to enjoy Wander Woodstock and support the parks
ReplyDeleteGreat use of AI. That image should be disseminated right across the country. I am glad that so many people turned out in protest right across the country. What effect it will have remains to be seen, but the pressure should be unrelenting.
ReplyDeleteIt isn’t copyrightable because it is AI, so feel free to share.
DeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteI am sure Charlie just needs more time with the training. I love the flowers, I hope to see the bluebells here. The AI bear is cute! Take care, enjoy your day and have a great week!
...resist!
ReplyDeleteI am not a dog person, but I'd guess that one with the history that Charlie has behind him will mean he has to take more time to learn in training. But he does love you and will want to please you...as well as enjoy treats!
ReplyDeleteI share your concern about our national parks.
