Mural in Front Royal Walmart
I was surprised to see this huge canvas at the grocery entrance to the Walmart in Front Royal. It shows a fanciful version of the entrance to Shenandoah National Park. (The river is not really that close, although it is within walking distance.)
I read that some people have decided to buy nothing from Walmart this week as a form of protest. I don’t know if it will make a dent in their business around here. There aren’t many department stores or grocery stores in the area.
Sharing with Monday Murals.

ReplyDeleteThat is amazing!
ReplyDeleteIt is a beautiful mural, a lovely park scene.
ReplyDeleteTake care, have a great day!
The more boycotts and protests the better. There was a time when you lived without Walmart and did perfectly well. I have only set foot in a Walmart store twice in my life.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, when Walmart comes into a town, many independent stores find they cannot compete and close, leaving customers with little choice except to shop there.
DeleteOur closest Walmart was damaged by our September floods, but has reopened with just non-refrigerated things...which is a lot of the merchandise still. Love seeing that mural in the Walmart there!
ReplyDeleteWhat a stunning and captivating piece. Thank you so much 💓 for sharing.
