Brave Beagle on Bridge

Charlie used to be timid about stepping out on the suspension bridge, but now he doesn't hesitate. I don't let him walk all the way across the bridge though, because I fear he might start running and I won't have anything to hold on to except a wire. There’s no place to go on the other side anyway, because it’s privately-owned land. The state has a right of way across it in emergencies, so if the vehicle bridge floods, people can still walk out of the park on this swinging bridge.

Have you been on a swinging bridge? They move with every step you take. We both stood still long enough for me to take a picture of the view of the North Fork.

This bridge is on the Lupton Road side of Seven Bends State Park, near the beginning of Eagles Edge Trail.

  6. When I was young I enjoyed swinging bridges and would deliberately make them rock. Today, I would as soon stay off them, thank you very much!

  7. I don't mind feeling my own rhythm of walking, but hate it when more than one person is walking and the bridge kind of shudders. Me to!

  8. I know two dogs I definitely would NOT want to cross that bridge with. :-)

  9. I'm with Charlie, but opposite. I didn't mine them when I was younger, now I do!

  10. Go Charlie! They make me just slightly wary, especially if there are multiple people on one.

  11. This bridge is not for those with balance issues. Love your last photo with the great reflections, perfect in b&w.
