Charlie’s First State Park Visit
Yesterday I took Charlie to Seven Bends State Park. I wanted to get some
end-of-summer photos and also give him a chance to sniff the trail where other
dogs have been. I am working on getting him comfortable in the outdoors. He
did really well. Like many of the Envigo dogs who were raised in cages, he is
unsure of himself when outside and startles easily.
Charlie rides in the car really well. Lynn gave us a doggy seatbelt and he doesn’t mind it. He seems to be content in the back seat.
He has a sweet disposition. Sometimes I call him Flash because he looks a lot like him, especially his eyes.

ReplyDeleteGreat, we had a Beagle, named Adi. She is all over my blog. Adi and I were a registered Pet Therapy Team. We visited seniors in their various living places, Adi's favorite was the Alzheimer's wing of an assisted living place. The residents loved Adi, she loved them.
Forgot to mention, Adi died in 2012. We have not replaced her. Her partner and friend, Katrin, Toy Terior dog, died in 2013. We wish we had another dog but we are too old to have one around the house to trip on.

Is Charlie your new dog? He looks cute & wise.
ReplyDeleteYes, I picked him up on Monday.
DeleteGood morning, Linda: I cannot tell you how much I appreciate that you are taking Charlie to discover the outdoors. Smell is such a vital sense to dogs, and given the chance to explore it must be close to ecstasy. So many new experiences can be gained via olfactory clues and a dog becomes a dog. Bravo!
ReplyDeleteGostei de ver estas belas fotografias.
ReplyDeleteUm abraço e bom fim-de-semana.

ReplyDeleteOne happy learning beagle is Charlie, he is!
ReplyDeleteCute dog!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great time for both of you.
ReplyDeleteWonderful photos.
Charlie is a sweet little dog and he must be a happy little guy with all the TLC you are giving him. Beautiful scenery, a great place to walk for you both. My niece-to-be is fostering another one of these little beagles. He needs constant fusses she says, which she is only too happy to give him. So glad for Charlie and all of these sweet pups that are getting their loving homes.
ReplyDeleteLovely photographs, and especially nice to see Charlie.
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
