Shenandoah County Celebrates 250 Years

At the Virginia Museum of the Civil War, New Market

Ruby Tuesday / Treasures / Wordless

  1. ...when I attended the University of Georgia in the 1960s many were still fighting the Civil War. As Americans we don't seem to learn from history and now state after state don't want to teach American history!

  2. Great celebratory gathering...I would love to visit that museum, though I do know the Civil War was over, won by the north, and many southeners have trouble accepting it!

  3. I love visiting museums. I really regret never seeing this. Linda, your photos are beautiful.

  4. That looks like quite the celebration! All your photographs are wonderful, Linda, but that last one is our favorite!

The View from Squirrel Ridge features thousands of views of the Shenandoah Valley and surrounding area. I post frequently so please visit often.
