February 2nd was Groundhog Day, a rather silly occasion in which we pretend to believe that a rodent has powers of prognostication. I don't have any groundhog pictures but my neighbor says one lives in her yard so perhaps I'll get a picture when the weather warms up.
For now, here's another rodent, one that doesn't mind winter, although he retreats to his tree on the coldest days.
There are geese on the lake in the next picture. You may need to click on it to see them. Or you can look at a different lake view brought up close with a zoom lens.
Reflections / Saturday Critters / The Bird D'pot |
This afternoon a flash of red caught my eye, up high in a tree. I looked through the zoom lens and saw this fine robin. The American Robin (Turdus migratorius) lives year-round in most of the United States.
Nice that these critters are adjusting well with the winter. Lovely pictures, I particularly like the American Robin.
ReplyDeletePoor old squirrel. I guess he'd prefer not to be labelled a "rodent" but would like to be called a "furry creature". LOL.
ReplyDeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteThe squirrels do not seem to mind the cold weather and winter. Love the deer, geese, ducks and the cute Robin.
