Autumn on Skyline Drive, and a Houseplant in Bloom

Let's start with a black and white view from an overlook on Skyline Drive. Below us is the South Fork of the Shenandoah.

Skyline Drive is extremely popular in autumn so I only go on weekdays. The leaves are falling now but I took this picture earlier this month. The road is reflected in my mirror.

Today I grabbed some snapshots of my Christmas cactus, which is blooming well this year.

Have a good weekend, and be careful if you drive on the highways. People speed like they are on a race track.

  1. Your rear mirror shot is full of autumn leaves, very clever. Our leaves probably won't turn until sometime in December although we are now down into the upper 80's here in Southeast Texas. I am glad that your Christmas cactus bloomed, ours did last year but doesn't show much promise this year yet.
Thanks for peeking in on me and for your nice comment. It's been a while since we crossed, I dropped out of James's group for a few Fridays, just worked for Tom. Couldn't resist Mrs. Jim's picture though.

  6. It's true what you say about people driving like fools. We were out recently, in a very rural area, and slowing down frequently to admire the fall colours etc and people were honking at us. I hope they enjoyed the minute or two they saved by screaming past us.
