Saturday Critters / I'd Rather Be Birdin' |
One day I watched two red birds land in the grass. I couldn't see them well until I zoomed in using my camera. Then they appeared to be young purple finches. (A bird-knowledgable reader says house finches.)
The fourth shot shows a squirrel.
Your wildlife and bird photos are very pretty. I just caught up on a couple weeks of your blog and I love learning about your area of Virginia. The sign commemorating the Black troops in the Civil War is especially enlightening.

The first bird is perhaps a Song Sparrow, and the two in the grass are male House Finches.
ReplyDelete...critters galore.
ReplyDeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute dog. I love the male finches and the sparrow is sweet. Great critter post. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Take care, have a happy day and a great new week ahead. PS, thank you for leaving me a comment.
All's wonderful. I love all the candid photos today Linda. (I don't need to add MY id's since they are in previous comments)
ReplyDeleteSharing this with us, along with great photos is much appreciated at IRBB this week, thanks!
The male house finches sure are pretty. Enjoyed seeing the squirrel. Gus, our dog, loves barking at them and they love taunting him. Fun to watch. Happy Sunday!
ReplyDeletelots of sweet critters. it looks like you caught the squirrel off guard...like he was doing something naughty!!
ReplyDeletea great collection of images!!
on my blog you asked what is wrong with store bought dill: pesticides!! even though it was organic, and we washed it/soaked it well, the caterpillars that ate it died!! it had to have been the dill!!
Thanks for yet another post of wonderful critters...loved the finches, which I've missed by not having a bird feeder.
ReplyDeleteMind blowing post
