Welcome, Visiting Birds.

This morning I saw a cormorant beside the lake. They don't come here very often. I think they stop at the lake to catch some fish on their way to seasonal quarters.

Yesterday I saw an osprey flying over the lake. I watched him dive for fish a few times.

A hummingbird occasionally visits my feeder, his little wings beating furiously.

  2. I hope that anglers let the cormorants and ospreys have their share of fish.

  8. Those cormorants are probably heading to Oregon for the summer; we have tons of them here and in Florida in the winter (I'm pretty sure they arent the same ones). Beautiful picture of the hummer!

  9. What awesome birds! I had a cormorant try to 'fish' in my fish pond a few years back!
Ospreys are rather elegant in the air and hummingbirds are always fun to watch. How lucky that they visit your garden :)

Thanks for being part of 'My Corner of the World' this week!
