The View from Newport, VA.

Newport is a small town in Page County along the South Fork of the Shenandoah River.  I remember Kite's Store as a landmark along Route 340 in the years ago before I-81 opened to traffic and became the main route south toward Staunton.

There's a boat landing there where people launch kayaks and fishing boats.

I pulled off there and also at the Redeeming Love Fellowship Church to take a few pictures.

  1. Those daffodils are a cheerful burst of colour.

  2. ...Linda, I enjoy your spring views of Newport, we will hit a high of 25F today. Your 6th image with the silo poking up is wonderful.

  4. Glad the little grocery is still open! Nice shots of the area.

  5. I like that little store. I remember shopping at them with my mom and grandparents when I was little.
