I've got some
Saturday Critters but first let me say that I am glad that the presidential election is decided. It took a long to for all the votes to be verified and counted. There is still the possibility of lawsuits, but at least I can stop biting my nails! And I'm pleased that Kamala Harris will be our first female vice president. I was impressed with her speech and with Joe Biden's.
The photo of the horse and rider is from an event a few years ago that I did not get around to posting. This was on Smithsonian property near Front Royal.
The gatepost with a deer statue caught my eye as I was exploring a back road. I don't know who Kenneth is but he must feel welcomed.
I spotted the bird on a branch this afternoon. I could only see it in silhouette so I did not know that it was a robin until I cropped the image and lightened the shadows.
I walked out toward the lake to look for more birds. Some Canada Geese flew in and I quickly snapped pictures. I did not have time to compose much because they were moving. I cropped these later in Photoshop.
Those Canada geese images are awesome...especially the one with the mountain backdrop!! This week, I want to send my thanks to you for sharing your post with us birders!

ReplyDeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteLove the horse and rider photo. The Robins are all over the place lately. Love the geese, great flight shots. I am happy for Biden/Harris! Thank you for linking up your post. Take care, enjoy your day. Have a great new week ahead.
Yes I think the whole world will sleep easier tonight Linda ✨ Love the duck shots, looks like they were synchronised as they came in to land, they look quite triumphant in the last shot 😉
ReplyDelete...it's great to see glass ceilings being broken.
ReplyDeleteAll gorgeous photos! I cried like a baby through the speeches last night, so touching.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos of the geese landing. I often feel how wonderful they must be, able to fly, float, and walk...and they know landing on the water rather than land is easier on the feet!
ReplyDeleteLove all the birds!
ReplyDeleteHave a blessed day!
Always fun to watch geese in flight and landing. Didn't watch the speech but the snippets I did see seemed refreshingly normal. Glad to have things a bit back in balance. Happy Sunday!
ReplyDeleteI also am glad at the election results. Not too many people I know in Oklahoma are happy though.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos of the geese!! I love seeing them glide into the water! :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shots of the Canada geese and the rider. Love your nature :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos of geese.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad Biden won the election.
I don't know why they call them Canada geese. The moment it starts getting cold they hightail it south.
ReplyDeleteLovely selection of photographs.
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
