Thank You Workers and Other Sentiments.

I saw this sign on a fence in Strasburg. Indeed, we appreciate all those essential workers who are "working to keep things going.
Thankful Thursday.
This factory near Middletown is involved in research and products to fight the virus: Thermo Fisher.

We are still seeing shortages in stores. This was the paper goods aisle in Target. I was also dismayed to see they had removed all the recycling bins.

Like many stores, the clerks are no longer filling our reusable bags. If you fill your own, you are not supposed to put it on the counter because it could be unsanitary. So now they are giving out more plastic bags than ever and refusing to take them back for recycling!

Sporting goods are considered essential in Virginia. This sign is near Toms Brook.

Theaters are closed. This one in Front Royal has a plea to the governor.

Meanwhile in Maurertown, I spotted a different plea:
Please stand 6 feet apart.
No hand shakes!

A similar request is posted at a farm market in Linden, but extra politely:
Please maintain 8 ft. of Kindness!

  1. Hello,
The thank you sign is great. I love the rooster.
It is a shame there will be so much more plastic.
Happy Friday, enjoy your day and weekend!

  2. ...Linda, you found some wonderful signs. We have a Thermo Fisher facility here too. I just read that paper products are often made from recycled office paper and that isn't available like it once was and this is leading to shortages. Yep, guns are essential y'all.

  4. Our local recycling center has closed for the moment. We used it each week and are missing it. More trash for the landfill. Sad times.
