This past week was one of the coldest I remember. I don't think the temperature ever got up to the freezing point. At least the big snow did not reach us!
It's rare that I spot a bluebird in our yard, but I saw one from our family room window and managed to get some pictures. Robins are not rare here, but usually I only see one at a time. A flock of robins visited the other day. I suspect they came here to escape the snow that hit the coast.
Next we have the great blue heron. I doubt if he caught any fish. Most of the lake was frozen.
Last of all, here's a pair of squirrels. I don't really mind them taking some of the bird seed when it's this cold. They need to eat too!
Wonderful! That bluebird snapshot is SO COLORFUL! All your portraits are great...as you say a good time for birding!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for joining us birders this week at I'd Rather B Birdin'. Hope you can return again throughout 2018.

great shots, you should put a few bluebird houses up to bring them closer. They are so pretty to watch.

All the best Jan
The blue bird is my favourite.
ReplyDeleteYour bluebird picture is stunning! Fun photos, hope you are staying warm.
ReplyDeleteWow, a great week for birding (and wildlife watching) in your area. That isa lot of robins together... and I bet you're right about their being escapees from up north. Thanks for providing banquets for your birds (and squirrels). They do need you.
ReplyDeleteQuite a lot of bird captures. I saw a flock of Robins at our farm last spring. The first time I had witnessed such a thing.
ReplyDeleteYou found a good variety of birds.
ReplyDeleteGreat Bluebird picture. Makes me think it's March already!
ReplyDeleteThats a nice set of birds - the ducks at the bis stop made me laugh. I suppose taking the bus south is easier than flying!
