Flowers, A Kite, and A Sign of Love

Willy Nilly Friday

1. It's raining, it's pouring! We need it, because it's been hot and dry since the 18th. That's when I took this picture of a daylily with raindrops on it. I'm sharing this with Maria's Orange blog hop, and I thank her for spotlighting my sunset picture from last week.

2. Speaking of flowers, these are at Eastham Park in Front Royal.

3. One afternoon my eye was caught by something moving in the sky. It was a kite! It soared for a while and then came down in some trees.

4.  Frank took this picture of me and Lynn, two "L" ladies. This was a week ago at Orkney Springs. We were there for the Arlo Guthrie Concert. We joke that we go to see him every 10 years, because it is actually true although we squeezed in one extra concert at JMU.

5. It was only fair to turn around and take a picture of Frank at the same sign. These giant "LOVE" signs are a project of Virginia Tourism and they appear all over the state. "Virginia is for Lovers."

  1. Rain all over the world... a fantastic kite, hope, they could it safe from the trees. By the way: I'm a Virginia book lover, I like to read nouvels from Virginia, although I never will see the state in real.
Thanks for joining, enjoy your weekend

  2. ...now I want to go fly a kite!

  3. Lovely blooms and a nice idea for VA.

  4. Here in upstate NY we've had more than our share of rain...hope the farmers survive. Ya gotta love LOVE.

  5. Hello, pretty flowers. Cute photos of you, Lynn and Frank. Happy Saturday, enjoy your weekend!

  6. Such great photos as always! I especially love the kite photo.

  7. Beautiful shots, Linja.
Thank you for joining the Floral Friday Fotos meme, I hope to see more of your photos in the weeks ahead!

  8. Lovely flowers and lovely ladies by the giant "L," as well! I haven't seen anyone fly a kite anywhere in ages.

  9. I always get so excited when I find a love sign! Cute pic of you and your friend....actually I like all the pics! I was glad to get the rain!! Thanks for linking Linda and I hope you've been having a great week!!
