A Few More Snowy Scenes

The snow didn't last long! Today temperatures were well above freezing and then in late afternoon, it rained, washing away all but piled-up snow.
Squirrel in Black and White

I took plenty of pictures while the snow was pretty, though. Birds and small animals stand out nicely, as do plants.

Here we see a robin, a cardinal and woodpecker at a feeder, a purple finch, and a branch that was just outside my window.

The last two pictures show my neighbor's dog. When I looked at thumbnails of these in Adobe Bridge, I wondered why I took them. I didn't see Molly rolling in the snow!

When I looked at larger versions, there she was, having fun. I cropped these so you can see her too.

  1. The snow does make a lovely backdrop. Sweet back yard critters and the dried flower is lovely.

  2. Snow is always such a lovely companion when you have to take some shots of the wild Nature, thank you Dearest Linda for sharing your outstanding images !

Wishing you a most lovely Sunday and new week to come

Love the squirrel in black and white
A white dog in the snow is hard to see, but it is a FUN photo!

  4. I love the woodpecker, its a great image!

  5. So, so pretty! I enjoy 'seeing snow from my computer'....but cold and white isn't for me. I like living in the South. lol

    What glorious images today.

Thanks so much for your participation this weekend at I'd Rather B Birdin'! I never stop enjoying your birding photos.

  6. I had a dog who would roll in the snow also, funny

  7. Hello, love your feeder birds. Especially the cool woodie. I miss feeding the birds. Thank you so much for linking up and sharing your post. Have a happy day and new week ahead!

  8. Love the squirrel! And your bird photos are gorgeous. We had heavy snow this morning here in Smithfield - no accumulation, but it sure was pretty while it was snowing.

  9. Great squirrel picture - love the highlights on his back.

  10. I am so glad you enjoy your snow. I would be miserable. I love the photo of the dog. We have a couple dogs who absolutely love the snow.

  11. I like the expression you captured on that robin!

  12. The critters must be impatient at times for spring!

I saw the first robins up here since fall over the weekend.

  13. The birds do stand out well against the snow. Pretty pictures!

  14. great shots of the birds. Love the composition of the first image. Perfect!
