The View is the Reward

Our reward for making our way to the Tower-Tunnel Overlook was a magnificent view of Breaks Canyon.

Frank noticed that the blaze for the trail looked like a fried egg!

The "tower" is a rock formation. The "tunnel" is a railroad tunnel through the mountains.
If you look closely you can see the railroad.

  1. The path does look like it has had some water down it!

I was looking at your earlier post - its strange to think how many industries were based in woodlands at stage.

    Cheers - Stewart M - Melbourne!

  2. Tis a reward with beautiful photography too ~ thanks, carol, xo

  3. We didn't get to do any hiking during our short visit to the Breaks. This looks like a great trail for a hike -- preferably when the weather is a little drier than it was for you. The view is wonderful.

  4. Looks like such a beautiful area! I'd love to go hiking there.

  5. Beautiful Linda!! Pretty soon all those trees are going to be alive with color.

  6. Wow! What a gorgeous view! Looks very serene there :)

The View from Squirrel Ridge features thousands of views of the Shenandoah Valley and surrounding area. I post frequently so please visit often.
