Heater Farm Tour, Middletown

Yesterday we went on a tour of the Heater Farm on Cedar Creek Battlefield. Ranger Kyle explained the history of the farm and it's role in the American Civil War.

Now that the battlefield is part of the Cedar Creek and Belle Grove National Historical Park, ranger programs are regularly scheduled. The park is different from most national parks in that it is run as a partnership with several preservation organizations, including the Cedar Creek Battlefield Foundation, which has conserved the Heater Farm since 1988.
Ranger Kyle gave an animated presentation at the Heater House.

  1. Sounds like an interesting tour. It's good they are keeping alive the history of the place.
