The Stubby-Tailed Squirrel

I don't know how this squirrel lost most of his tail. It looks like part of one foot is missing too. He showed up at our feeder the other day. I was glad he discovered an easy source of food.

He seemed to be a friend or sibling of another squirrel who has visited us before. I'm including his picture too so you can see how full a normal tail looks.

  2. It is a tough life being a squirrel. They visit my bird feeder all of the time, and sometimes the cat will catch one. Nasty accident here I guess.

  5. Poor thing! I hate to see animals that have been hurt like that. At least you are helping him/her out by feeding them.

  7. It's nice to think of squirrels as having friends, just like we do. Especially nice that this squirrel has you as a friend since, as you point out, it has obviously experienced some hardship in life. Sweet photos :)
