Spiky Ice

This picture is from a week ago, when we still had icicles hanging from the eaves. Recent rains have cleared the roof, although we still see patches of snow in the yard.

The green patches behind the oak tree are from a large pine. We have plenty of pine trees in our yard.

By the way, after taking some pictures of the icicles, I knocked them down. They weigh down the gutters and can loosen them, plus they drip onto the deck, making it treacherously slippery as the water turns back into ice.
