Waterfowl at Waterlick


There are always ducks and geese at Shenandoah River Lakes. Some local people feed them with the result that the geese in particular have become rather bold and will even stand in the road as though they were outlaws holding up a stagecoach!

These couples were enjoying the lake in spite of thin sheets of ice still floating in it a few days ago. I imagine the ice is gone now for we have had warm temperatures for a couple of days in a row.
