- Park near Hooters to study the Battle of Barboursville
- Scary Creek
- Gauley Bridge
- Chimney Corner
- Cross Corners
- Carnifex Ferry
- Hawk's Nest State Park (spent night and lecture at Golf Course)
- Kanawha Falls
- Sewell Mountain
