The state of Virginia encourages tourism, which is an important part of the economy. They maintain some pretty nice rest stops, where you can take a bathroom break, walk your dog, check a map, eat a picnic, or take a nap in your car.
For a while, I thought that self-driving cars would be available before I got too old to drive, but now I’m not so sure. What I really want is a self driving RV… or a chauffeur!
Rest stops while travelling are important!

ReplyDeletei am right there with you...i love day trips, and enjoy them much more. it's a real bonus when you have nice, clean rest stops. new jersey does a pretty good job at maintaining them. i also look for scenic overlooks, they always have great views!!
ReplyDeleteYes, there are so many forms of travel, and I take a lot of day trips, and this weekend coming up I'll be taking a weekend trip to Duluth, Minnesota!

Lots of places to stop and rest are great especially as we get older.
ReplyDeleteSome states do great on rest stops along the interstate highways. Others not so much.
