Public Art, Sudden Rain

Harrisonburg, VA

Last week we had really hot afternoons followed by sudden rain storms. This was the case on Thursday, when I went into the food co-op for a few items and came out as just to a few drops of rain started to fall. I headed toward Main Street to get a picture of a new mural, but first I took a picture of a decorated utility box while I was stopped at a traffic light. By the time I reach the mural, the rain had gotten heavy, but it turned out that  mural was not finished yet.

I decided to pull off in a parking lot and wait for the storm to let up. I took a picture of the rain pelting down on my windshield. I aimed the phone’s camera at a couple of windows to see what they would look like.

Here’s a picture of the incomplete mural from a couple of weeks before that. I suspect that the reason the  artist has not made much progress is that the weather has been inhospitable.

  6. Something to look forward to seeing down the line...mural. Rain is here to stay this week apparently. Can't really complain as the temperature is lower too.

  8. Such a nice way to decorate an old utility box and look forward to the finished mural. Always fun to see the patterns created by rain on a window.
