I remember when the jukebox still worked at the Southern Kitchen. The
wall-mounted boxes are still there beside each table. For many years, you
could choose the song you wanted to hear from the flip cards, insert a
quarter, and punch in the number. The music would play from the jukebox at the
end of the room.
The restaurant kept theses boxes as part of a nostalgic look. They still serve
home-cooked food.
The coca-cola reflection adds to the nostalgia.

ReplyDeleteWhat does it mean when a restaurant serves “home-cooked” food. Isn’t that what you eat at home? Doesn’t a restaurant serve “restaurant-cooked” food?
ReplyDeleteSort of, but many (too many!) restaurants served heated-up frozen dishes. I once asked at Olive Garden if the steak had pepper (which makes me cough), and the manager had to find a label to read! They even brought me a section of the box for fried potatoes to show that they only had salt. That stuff is factory made!
