Mockingbird and House Finch
Well, I’m having trouble posting from my iPad tonight. I guess I need to reboot it.
Similarly, I had a problem with my refrigerator. The freezer compartment stopped freezing, and I had to throw out a bunch of food. I made sure nothing was blocking the vents. Then I ordered a new refrigerator, one with a more capacity and much nicer looking.
Suddenly, the old one started working again. Apparently ice had been clogging the drain hose and needed to defrost. Now this is a frost-free refrigerator, and I didn’t know that you really should defrost it once in a while, perhaps every year or so.
I considered canceling the order, but decided that I really want the new one. It matches my other appliances. More importantly, prices are probably going to go up due to tariffs, and the old one might fail soon due to age.
Ha, this post was supposed tp be about birds! Well, note that the house finch is standing in front of a little house!

Those are some cute little birdies! Sorry to hear about your refrigerator issues. We, too, recently got one to replace our ancient one, in advance of the tariffs. Sigh.
ReplyDelete...we have some house finch visiting us.
ReplyDeleteMy freezer defrosts itself. But I managed not to close it correctly one night. But everything was still okay. We call this family of birds finkar.
ReplyDeleteSounds like perfect timing—a lucky fix on the old fridge, but even better that the new one will match, offer more space, and beat any upcoming price hikes. Definitely a smart move in the long run!
ReplyDeleteMockingbird has moved into our area in recent years, but is still quite rare and we always enjoy seeing them. They have not visited my yard yet.
ReplyDeleteHello, Great birds and photos.
ReplyDeleteIt is a good idea to buy the new refrigerator before the prices go up. Take care, have a great day!
My son's refrigerator also bit the dust (as they say out west) and he's ordered a new one also. Lovely house finch.
ReplyDeleteIt's funny how sometimes things seem to break down right before we make a big decision, like ordering a new fridge. But it’s great that you’ve got it sorted, and the new fridge sounds like a wonderful upgrade, especially with how it matches your other appliances. The house finch at the end adds a nice touch of serenity to the chaos of everyday life. Birds always seem to remind us to slow down and enjoy the simple things, even when everything else is a bit hectic! Hopefully, everything works out smoothly with both the tech and the fridge in the long run.
ReplyDeleteGive the lifespan of so many fridges, it probably doesn't hurt to replace them sooner than later.
