At the End of Lawyers Row

Woodstock, VA

Tuesday Treasures / Image-in-ing

I found surprisingly little about this building on the internet. There is a PDF of the Nomination Form for Woodstock Historic District (1995) to the National Register of Historic Places that describes it as “the one story, brick, Walton and Walton law office with its dental cornice and classical portico with Tuscan columns. According to local tradition, Stonewall Jackson used the building on several occasions as temporary headquarters during his Valley Campaign of the Civil War.”
