Farms and Town, Strasburg

Views from Locust Grove Road near Strasburg

Mosaic Monday / Barns

Strasburg’s New Mural
The ram is the town high school's mascot.

Strasburg is a nice town. Busy US-11 runs through it, but traffic is usually not too bad because nearby I-81 carries most of the truck traffic.

  1. Linda - love these classic bucolic scenes. The barn could use a lick of paint, but I think it is more interesting as it is. And terrific mural of the mascot! Thanks for linking to Mosaic Monday!

  2. I like the ram as a town mascot and the mural looks fabulous! A lot of greenery around the town. Thanks for participating in Monday Murals Linda.

  3. Like most old barns it looks like it could use a little work. Three years ago the owners of the barn where we do our Barn Swallow work had it repainted, roof and all, and some minor maintenance work. It does not come cheap!

  5. Yes not too bad until there is a wreck on I-81 and the interstate traffic runs through town. It happens way too frequently!

    1. True. And the side streets only help a little bit.

  6. It does look like a nice town, and the surrounding countryside, and old barns are delightful.

  8. Interesting photo of the barn needing paint and some new boards too! Good textures. The other barns in first collage look much more efficient in their structures. Great to have a ram. Our town is also home to a US highway and next to an interstate, and as Dawn said, gets really bogged down if there's an accident on the interstate.
