A Small Bird and a Large Bird.

Although I like photographing birds, identifying them is not my strong suit.  The only sparrow I can identify quickly is the white-throated variety because it has distinctive yellow spots. I am not sure whether I am correct in saying this is a song sparrow. Does it look like one to you?


Let me switch to something I am sure about. Here is a pileated woodpecker. I took this picture two years ago. It's a large bird and impressive in appearance. l

  1. From the sweet tiny sparrow to the garish huge woodpecker...these two probably aren't even aware of each other in the woods!
