Along Skyline Drive
Shenandoah National Park is a special place and I miss it during the winter weeks when they close the road due to ice and snow. When it's open, I like to drive up there every week or two.
I usually see deer unless the park is crowded with visitors or the weather is unusually bad. Since I'm retired, I can go during the week when it is quiet.

I've seen deer on Dickey Ridge so many times that I suspect I'm seeing some individuals over and over, but it's hard to say.
The joys of being retired I share. I pick my days and my places to go. Early morning is best. And when I say "early", I mean set off in the dark and enjoy the dawn and the few hours of peace and quiet.

ReplyDeleteWe too visit places when the crowds are likely to be at their lowest. In fact we often choose less than ideal weather because we know that will keep the people at bay!

As if the daffodills in your later post don't signify spring in your neck of the woods, the first trip into your wonderful NP definitely does! Yay, I'm glad you're able to get back out there ... I always love your posts from there.
