Visiting Birds

Tap, tap, tap!

Someone was knocking on the French doors.

It was those crazy graylag geese! The ones that attacked me. I did not invite them in.

This was the third time they have done this. Whether they want something or are curious about their reflection, I don't know.

There is a male cardinal who attacks my car because he sees his reflection. I cover the side mirrors when I park under his favorite tree, but that only helps a little. He can still see a reflection in the glass at times.

Wild Bird Wednesday

I don't think this cardinal is the same one. He lets the sparrow approach him while busy feeding. I've observed this many times.

The female cardinal is a striking bird.

The little bird on a log is a junco. I believe the bird on the tall grass is a female purple finch.

  1. The bird on the tall grass is a Song Sparrow (Melospiza melodia).
