The River, Tree Shadows, and a Catholic Church.

This view of the North Fork of the Shenandoah is from a low-water bridge near Woodstock.

The foliage hasn't changed dramatically in the Valley yet but on the higher ridges of the mountains the trees are looking pretty bright.

Speaking of trees, these branches are seen as shadows on a wall.

Today's final images are of a church in Woodstock.

This is St. John Bosco Catholic Church, named for an Italian priest of the 19th century who was canonized in 1934.

The present-day church was built next to the older church which dates to 1888.

  6. The river's tranquility is most welcome in these unsettling times.
