Meanwhile at home, I'm trying out a purple hummingbird feeder and so far it is very successful.
These tiny birds move very quickly. They don't seem interested in using the perches on the feeder but they do like the sugary nectar.

Hello, Love the beautiful deer and Shenandoah. They are a lovely sight to see. Cute captures of the hummers. Thank you for linking up! Enjoy your day, wishing you a great new week ahead. PS, thanks for the comment and visit.
ReplyDeleteDeer feel quite peaceful.
ReplyDelete...wonderful captures.
ReplyDeleteYour photos are really nice. A purple hummingbird feeder is a new idea to me. I thought red was the color that attracted them. I’ve had several photos of hummingbirds come out confused because the brightly-lit red surface was reflected in their plumage. (This is especially annoying in places where there are several different species, not just ruby-throated).

Fantastic shots of the deer and the hummingbird.
ReplyDeleteHurricane Hanna. ...I think it's over. Power went out yesterday about 1 pm...didn't get any A.C. until it was restored about 9 this morning. High winds, sporadic heavy rain, and last night tornadoes all over the area. No damage for us except lots of small branches.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by and linking up this weekend. Bud & I have a bit of clean-up to do, so my visit is short.
Beautiful photos! I always enjoy seeing deer too.
ReplyDeleteI Love the first picture of the deer. Really beautiful!
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear about the hurricane Hanna in your country!
ReplyDeleteGreat deer and hummer photos. I'd not seen any purple feeders...looks like it works!~
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about the deer, they are so gorgeous! Great job caching the tiny fliers, I'd spend all day taking photos of them!
ReplyDeleteIt's great to see you at 'My Corner of the World' this week!
Lovely to see the deer and the hummingbird.
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
So fun! I set up trail cameras by my house with a deer feed and I've been getting good photos. https://www.critterlick.com/
