A few days ago I showed pictures of cardinals and I only had one shot of a female. Today this lady posed for me, just long enough to get a photo.
Our local Canada goose family did not have so many babies, but they are looking out for this one.
On a more cheerful note, I love pileated woodpeckers and once in a while, one visits our yard. It even makes a distinctive call so I know to look out the window and pick up my camera.
After you get a good look at this beauty, scroll down to see a furry rabbit.
Another furry creature is the squirrel. I felt sorry for this momma squirrel because she was clearly hungry, even eating the hot pepper suet which is supposed to be squirrel-proof.
I had intended to stop filling the suet feeder for the summer, but since she apparently has little mouths to feed, I bought some regular suet for her. Yum-m-m, says Momma Squirrel!
I agree, your woodpecker is special. Not so keen on the rabbit. We are over run with them here and they do a lot of damage in the garden and to crops.
ReplyDeleteWonderful sights from the park.Momma Squirrel is very happy.

ReplyDeleteI envy you having a pileated woodpecker! Never seen one in the wild. And that goose by the fountain image is superior!
ReplyDeleteAs always, I thank you for taking time out in your day to show off your birds with us at I'd Rather B Birdin this week.
Hello, I love your Pileated Woodpecker, great photo. The goslings are cute. I love the rabbit too, they are adorable. The squirrel looks very thankful for the food. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Enjoy your day, wishing you a great new week ahead. PS, thanks for the comment and visit.
ReplyDelete...stink bugs are easy to find these days, Washington is crawling with them.
ReplyDeleteLove the goose taking off with the fountain in the background. Nice series of pics. I got my first pic of a pileated woodpecker this past week. So exciting! Have a great week.
