Municipal Building, Middletown, VA

The first of the month is Theme Day at City Daily Photo and this month's topic is "Municipal Building." Yesterday I posted a picture of Strasburg's Town Hall, and today I am going down the Valley Pike to the next town to show Middletown's Town Hall. The building actually has a historic designation because the older part of it dates to 1880.

An electronic sign advertises coming events. I guess the Active Shooter Training Session is a sign of the times.

Behind the older part of the building is an addition. The entire building was renovated in 2018 to resolve a mold problem and makes some updates.

To the side of the Town Hall is a Little Library box where people leave books to exchange with other readers.

On the other side of Church Street is St. Thomas Chapel, which dates to 1837. I've posted pictures of it before relating to its Civil War history as a makeshift hospital for treating wounded soldiers.

Inspired Sunday, Shadow Shot Sunday.
