Egret and Friends

We don't see egrets as often as Great Blue Herons, but this one has been fishing in the neighborhood lake all week. I believe he is a Great Egret because he has a yellow bill. (I read that the Snowy Egret has a black bill.)

The geese seem somewhat curious about him. He concentrates on fishing and does not notice me as quickly as the Great Blue Heron does.

  3. Not a great blue heron. They are grey.

  4. I don't think egrets make it this far north in summer. I can't recall ever seeing one.
