This Afternoon at Blandy.

After high temperatures at mid-day, things cooled off slightly and I took a short walk at Blandy, the State Arboretum.  I took pictures in the Pollinating Garden, and I intend to show some flowers later this week. Since today is Wild Bird Wednesday, I want to share this hummingbird. He got fairly close but of course he flew off when I moved.

Look, he has a sign telling how smart he is!

Some squirrels were playing in a tree. Most of the pictures I took of them were blurred because they moved quickly.  I managed to get a picture of this one on a branch.

Canada geese circled over one of the ponds.

As I drove through the farm, I stopped to take a picture across a field and noticed a bird flying around. I zoomed in as he drew closer.

  1. Precioso reportaje, me ha gustado mucho. Saludos desde España.

  2. Beautiful shots of birds, and the squirrel who stayed still just long enough.

  3. The squirrel is pausing just long enough to decide his next course of mischief.
