A Methodist Church in Bluemont

Bluemont UMC.

The town of Bluemont was originally named Snickersville, after Edward Snickers, who operated a ferry across the Shenandoah River in the 18th century. Eventually the town was renamed Bluemont to attract people to its mountainside location.

According to the church website, the land for the church was purchased in 1851 for $50.
