Odd Hours, No Pay.

I was amused by this sign. Can you guess what job it advertises?

Yes, volunteer fire fighter. That fire engine doesn't really go with that sign, which was in front of Rivermont Fire Department. The rest of the pictures are from the Strasburg Fire Department trucks.

This logo is on one of the trucks. The ram represents the town's high school mascot. The stoneware pots refer to the town's history as a center of pottery making.

The next logo shows another ram. This one is dressed as a fire fighter.

The logo on "Engine Co. 51" has a picture of the Strasburg Museum, once a pottery factory.

The ambulance is white and purple. We see quite a bit of purple in Strasburg because it is the official color of the high school teams.

I'm sharing this post with the Signs linkup, now in it's final week on the Signs2 location. Next week it is moving to Tom's blog.

  1. ...and odd sign. I love firetruck art!

  2. Now I will have to search for firetruck art...had no idea it even existed. The color of the ambulance is surprising...all the ones I see are combos of red and white...well maybe blue and white now that I think of it.

  3. That old fire truck stands out beautifully.

  4. I love that sign, and a great second photograph :)

    All the best Jan

  5. So do you need a cool hat to get the job or does the cool hat come with?

  6. The sign is brilliant and thanks to all the volunteers who do this important work!
