MSV Random-osity

The Good: We returned to the Museum of the Shenandoah Valley on Sunday to see an exhibit. This beautiful museum was designed by architect Michael Graves and opened in 2005.

The Random: Between the museum and the adjacent Glen Burnie House and Gardens there are two red barns. They are used in maintaining the extensive grounds.

The Fun:
We were there to see the Alex Ross exhibit. Ross is a respected comic book artist who is best known for his superhero art. Like my daughter Marie, he has worked for both Marvel and DC Comics.

Photography is not allowed inside the exhibit but there are cut-outs in the lobby for those who desire a selfie with Spider-Man or Captain America.

  1. Linda, what a lovely red barn grouping! Red if the classic color. Thanks for sharing and I look forward to your return.

  4. It is a great museum. I have a friend who lives in Winchester who keeps telling us we all need to go there. She knows we love museums. Also our son who has attended the San Diego ComiCon(?) for several years, would be very interested in the Alex Ross exhibit. I'm going to have to tell him about this one. Thanks also for the link to Marcia's post on the Mural Bridge at Frederick. Going over there right now.

  6. How lucky you are to live in the beautiful countryside like you do and yet be able to get into the city to a museum like this. sounds like a perfect location to me.
