Sunbow, Sunset, and Stoplights
When I posted another sunbow picture in November, I looked up sunbow and learned it is also called a sundog but the proper name is parhelion. I posted a nice one 8 years ago from Bryce Resort.
This yellow sunset was taken the same day as the first picture, January 1st. It was a good afternoon for clouds.
This stoplight scene does not have the romance of the first two but gives me an opportunity to mention a significant change for traffic coming into Front Royal. Ahead is a bridge over the South Fork which is being replaced. The new span is scheduled to open on Monday for northbound traffic. I'll probably use an alternate route for a few days while motorists adjust to the lane shifts.

Moody skies.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful skies. You were in the right place at the right time.
ReplyDeleteSundogs tend to be elusive here, but I've seen them on occasion.
