A Mural of Bridgewater, Virginia

mural with town and horse-drawn carriage

I spotted this wonderful mural on the side of a hardware store in Bridgewater. Click on the panorama to get a good look! I had to merge two photos (in Photoshop) to show the whole painting.

The detail shot looks so quaint, but we often see buggies like that in Bridgewater and nearby Dayton. Many Mennonite families live in the area and even though they sometimes drive trucks to go to work, they can be seen riding in their buggies for local trips, especially on Sunday when everyone goes to church.

Bridgewater is a charming town on the North River and I've posted pictures of the college and there river previously.

  6. It is a nice mural. And you did a great job of stitching it together. I never would have guessed.

  7. Lovely. And amazing that the past is directly connected to the present. Thanks for contributing to this week's Monday Mural.
