Truckin'

Dayton, Virginia
This Mennonite family had been to the hardware store where they picked up a load of boxes. Of what, I don't know.

I was intrigued by the contrast between the horse-drawn wagon with the truck behind them and also by the enhancement of the cart by seats out of a car.

We see Mennonites fairly often in the Shenandoah Valley. I like hearing their horses go clip-clop clip-clop on the roads!

  3. We have a lot of Amish around us. Well,... a few miles from us but there is a lot of them.

I guess they want their wagon to be comfortable with the seats.

  5. I like this. I like to hear the sound of the horses' feet too.

  6. O, this was such a common sight during my university days! Sometimes a whole line of cars would be trailing behind them, but no one seemed to mind. I've always marvelled, almost been in awe of, their way of life.
