Kalimba, Mbira

This instrument has seen better days! I've had it for decades and never learned to play it. I don't even remember where I bought it.

It's an African instrument that goes by various names including thumb piano, kalimba, mbira, or sansa. A description in Wikipedia says it's a type of lamellophone.

  1. We sold one of those for around $75 over the summer. I couldn't figure out how to play it either... that is why we sold it.

  3. You should take a class! Maybe check with a University that has African studies. Having the instrument is half the battle...I bet it would be fun to play! I've always wanted to learn the strummed dulcimer!
