People at the Lincoln Cemetery

I knew I was in the right place even before I saw the old Lincoln homestead or the "Lincoln Cemetery" sign because there were so many cars parked along the road — perhaps a hundred. A crowd had turned out for the Lincoln's Birthday ceremony on Saturday.

  1. You are sharing good things on your blog. It would be great if you write something more about the place instead of posting pictures.

Anyhow, I am glad to know people still love Lincoln and gather to celebrate his birthday at his birth place.

  2. Sorry, I wrote about it before and should have repeated the link: http://webcroft.blogspot.com/2009/02/lincolns-of-virginia.html

Lincoln's father was born here. The fact that he moved west shows the daring that folks had, leaving comfortable settled areas for the rough frontier.
